On Chiriakhana

Two posts of interest, both with lots to say on the changes Ray made to the story and how well they work.

Amrita and I have watched Chiriakhana, and will discuss it here at some point; my brief opinion is that for someone who has not met Byomkesh in either book or filmed adaptation and who is better at looking at the sets, clothes, and weird character quirks in mystery shows than noticing actual clues, this is very enjoyable indeed, despite a resolution that I found a bit more on the “…Seriously?” side than I would ever expect from anything Ray chose to do.

    • Yes! Why was it so special? It didn’t sound like much of anything. And how come she didn’t find any other song to sing in like 7 years or however long it’d been? There’s a reason that movie is neglected, I guess. 😦 It’s too bad coz Uttam is so yummy in this (minus the weird Japanese thing, wtf).
